spæs
lab for spatial aesthetics in sound berlin
spæs thinks of spatial aesthetics as a day-to-day practice of world-making inherent to every compositional act with sound as one of its raw materials and loudspeakers in particular.

For 20 years, the members of spaes work through cross-disciplinary collaboration and experimentation with practitioners, artists, scholars, engineers, and researchers from all disciplines including arts, architecture, XR, games, music, and design, to explore the relationships between sound, space, and human experience from the perspective of aesthetics. This exchange of ideas, skills, and knowledge on the interface of science, practice, and academia allows us to cultivate a critical interdisciplinary reflection and to push the development and dissemination of practices within the field of aesthetics, space, and sound further.
