Spatial Audio Designer
Using an advanced virtual bus system, the Spatial Audio Designer allows for the mixing and monitoring of any immersive format in all digital audio workstations and many video workstations. Use it to create and export multi-format mixes, for example in 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 to 9.1.6, AURO-3D, MPEG-H, or custom configurations such as those in planetariums or other installations, alongside further formats including IMAX 3D and 22.2. It's the only software tool on the market for authoring, mixing, monitoring, exporting and encoding the full range of MPEG-H formats, including those compatible with Sony 360 Reality Audio, and its binaural virtual loudspeaker processing is built on real studio measurements taken in anechoic chambers. The plug-in can also read existing panning and volume automation data, so an existing 5.1 mix session can be converted to 7.1 or reworked as an Auro-3D mix without starting from scratch, and comes in several licence tiers, from the headphone-only In-One version up to the Film Stage tier, offering as many as 330 discrete outputs across eight simultaneous seats.

The Spatial Audio Designer comes from New Audio Technology, a Hamburg-based company founded in 2012 by Tom Ammermann, a Grammy-nominated immersive audio producer whose more than two decades of work in 3D and immersive sound production underpins the company's entire product line. The software has since become a fixture in environments well beyond conventional studios, from theme park fulldomes to planetarium installations, and in 2022 New Audio Technology partnered with Plugivery Distribution to make the Spatial Audio Designer range more widely available to sound designers, musicians and mixing engineers internationally.
