PolyNodes
PolyNodes is a generative sound synthesis and spatial audio platform that analyses the temporal properties of an audio input and translates them into a three-dimensional geometric structure of interconnected nodes; a single ten-second waveform can generate several thousand of these node connections. Several playhead agents then move through this geometry across macro, meso and micro time scales, using re-synthesis and signal processing to shape the sound, while DSP interactables and modulators linked to the 3D scene inform the sound design in real time. The platform renders all agent layers in true 3D binaural audio, ships with presets crafted by sound designers Laurent Mialon and Daito Manabe, and comes with a VST3/AU remote plugin for DAW automation and tempo sync, alongside a companion app for Apple Vision Pro that allows gestural control of the geometry in augmented reality.

PolyNodes was developed by sonicLAB as a collaboration between Sinan Bökesoy and Daito Manabe, and launched in June 2024, with sound design presets contributed by Manabe and Laurent Mialon. A companion app for Apple Vision Pro, PolyNodesAVP, followed in December 2024, mirroring the desktop application's 3D structure in augmented reality and adding gesture-based controls such as pinch-and-grab for repositioning objects and pinch-and-rotate for adjusting their strength. The platform has continued to be refined since, reaching version 2.2 in the spring of 2026.
