EAR Production Suite
The EAR Production Suite is an open-source set of VST plug-ins for immersive audio production in DAWs, built around the Audio Definition Model (ITU-R BS.2076) and the ITU ADM Renderer (ITU-R BS.2127). It is optimised for REAPER workflows, allowing engineers to author, import, export and monitor ADM BW64 content across ITU-R BS.2051 loudspeaker layouts, with exports compliant with the EBU ADM Production profile (Tech 3392) and an importer built to be tolerant of ADM files generated by third-party tools, so interoperability isn't limited to the Suite's own output. The latest version supports up to 128 channels when run in REAPER 7.0 or later. The suite was developed jointly by BBC R&D and IRT under the EBU Audio Systems group, and is positioned as a reference implementation for consistent ADM production workflows in professional tools.

history
+–
The EAR Production Suite began life as a joint open-source project between the BBC's R&D department and the German broadcasting research institute IRT, developed under the umbrella of the EBU Audio Systems group. Work started in spring 2019, with engineers from both organisations using agile development methods, and the finished Suite was published by the EBU in October 2020. It has continued to receive regular updates since release, with recent versions extending support to 128 simultaneous channels and improving compatibility with ADM files produced by other, third-party tools, reflecting the project's stated aim of demonstrating a consistent, reusable blueprint for ADM-based production workflows rather than a one-off tool.
