Atmoky trueSpatial

Atmoky trueSpatial® is a plug-in suite that brings atmoky's best-in-class spatial audio rendering to game engines and middlewares. The plug-in suite simulates human hearing and beams your audience into the scene with the power of unmatched hyper-realistic 3D sound. At its core sits a patented perceptual rendering model designed to keep sound colouration to a minimum, even for complex ambisonic scenes, with Ambisonic rendering supported up to higher orders. Among its key features you can find an externalisation booster, near-field simulation, directivity shaping and sound objects occlusion. It is integrated with Wwise, FMOD, Unity and it's possible to join an early access program for the integration into Unreal Engine, where trueSpatial has since become the first dedicated 3D spatialiser built specifically for MetaSounds. trueSpatial is one of three pillars of atmoky's work, alongside trueAcoustics, a real-time acoustic engine for reactive sound propagation in large, dynamically changing environments, and dedicated immersive audio engines for museums, themed attractions and other location-based entertainment.

history

+–

Atmoky was founded in 2020 in Graz, Austria, by Markus Zaunschirm, Daniel Rudrich, Clemens Amon and Christian Schörkhuber, who had previously developed the widely used IEM Plug-in Suite at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics at Graz's University of Music and Performing Arts. Drawing on that research background, the team set out to build a more flexible and versatile alternative to the entertainment- and loudspeaker-focused spatial audio solutions already on the market. The company has been incubated and supervised by the academic start-up centre Science Park Graz within the AplusB Scale-up programme, and is funded by Austria's aws promotional bank, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency, and the EU's Horizon Europe programme through the MUSMET project. trueSpatial has continued to expand its platform integrations since launch, adding a version 2.0 for FMOD and, more recently, reaching shipped console titles as well as PC and mobile games.
